Loewe. 100 Jahre Designgeschichte – 100 Years Design History
In the iF ranking, Loewe is among the top 10 German companies awarded for exceptional design performances. This is a good reason to take a close look at the design history of the company on the occasion of its 100-year anniversary. The third period from 1985 onwards saw the rise of Loewe to an internationally renowned design brand. For the first time, the creative minds in product and communication design who contributed to the development of the brand are named and previously unknown details of the Loewe corporate history are revealed. From its foundation in 1923 to the invention of the electronic television in 1931, Loewe has evolved into a globally operating design brand. HVB-Tower
Revitalisation of a landmarkFor three years, the architecture photographer HG Esch with impressive images documented the energetic renovation of the HVB-Tower in Munich, which has been the head office of the HypoVereinsbank since 2016. The characteristic exterior of the building, mirroring the sky in accordance with the design idea of the original architects Walther and Bea Betz and whose color is constantly changing with the intensity and incidence of sunlight, was replaced by a technologically pioneering façade construction. It contributes significantly to the new sustainability concept for one of Munich’s landmarks, achieving a significant reduction in energy consumption.A particular challenge for Henn Architekten, HVB Immobilien AG and all others involved in the construction was the visual reconstruction of the distinctive outer appearance of the heritage-protected HVBTower's façade, alongside all the technical innovation.

Design in Frankfurt 1920–1990
Modern Design in Frankfurt/Main – the other "Bauhaus""Less, but better": The motto of the Frankfurt designer Dieter Rams is still topical today – and very much so. In the face of rapid globalization and an increasing number of premium product consumers, the question on the resources and the longevity of products inevitably arises. The book outlines the prevalent design trends in Frankfurt and in the Rhine-Main-area from the 1920s to the 1980s. For furniture, interior and graphic design made in and around Frankfurt over seven decades, functionality, visuaö strength, austerity, aestethics in clear shapes and the visionary element always plays a major role. This first compact illustration of regional design also raises the question, to what extent German design in the 20th century defined itself through decentralized but intensively interlinked places and institutions.Catalogue of the exhibition in the Museum Angewandte Kunst Frankfurt.Search inside on ISSUU.com

With these goals in mind, effective stand architecture can create the initial basis for successful dialogue. The outstanding examples contained in the Trade Fair Design Annual 1012/13 have been selected to show how unique brand appearances can be created by blending architectural and communicative elements and what role audiovisual media, convincing graphics, light productions or different materials play in this.Rainer Häupl, Sabine Marinescu and Janina Poesch offer an insight into state-of-the-art trade fair staging and take a special look this time at the phenomenon of curated trade fairs.
